al Union of the Agriculture and Credit Cooperatives,TESKOMB it is our great pleasure to invite you to attend the 26th International Congress of the International Center of Research and Information on the Public, Social and Cooperative Economy (CIRIEC) to be held from 19 to 21 June,
2006 in
Istanbul, Turkey.
After three congresses devoted respectively to the s
tr
ategies and forms of cooperation of enterprises and organisations (Mon
tr
eal, 2000), public welfare and general interest policies (Naples, 2002) and taking due account of the needs of individuals and society (Lyons, 2004), CIRIEC intends to devote its 26th congress to the con
tr
ibutions of the public and cooperative economy to a more responsible, more solidarity-based economy.
The works of the 26th congress will take account of the globalisation of economic activities and, in that context, they will examine the con
tr
ibutions of the public, social and cooperative economy and public policies at different levels: local, regional, national and supranational. Particular attention will be paid to the supranational dimension, for instance in the context of the World Trade Organisation and the General Agreement on the Trade of Services. Setting out from this context of globalisation, the congress will envisage, among other things, what citizens/consumers and the players of the public, social and cooperative economy might do to defend and to promote responsibility and solidarity.
Istanbul is not only a city where East meets West but also a junction of culture, architecture and civilization. For this reason Istanbul hosts many international organizations. With its unique silhouette and s
tr
ucture Istanbul becomes meeting part of many companies and groups. A social program will further enhance your impressions of the Turkish history and culture which will be a preview on the Eastern culture.
We invite you to attend the CIRIEC international congress in Turkey in June 2006 and to enjoy its exciting scientific and social program.
